Err, not too many people abandon Windows altogether for Linux, since a lot of people rely on Windows for compatibility. Most people I know who run Linux don't run it as their main OS, either. They either run a separate comp with Linux for a server or something, or if they do want to use Linux for everyday stuff, they'll dual boot.
